Employees Need To Be Motivated? 2 Tips To Help Them

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started my first business was overlooking the importance of financial management. I had no idea how to do business accounting or even manage my inventory properly. At tax time, I was in way over my head. I spent a long time working with a business accountant to understand the basics and explore the details of the process so that I could manage my own books through the year. That's when I published this blog. I hope the information here will help others like me who don't have the financial edge but still want to run their own business.

It can be easy to become unmotivated. If your employees are having this problem, it can affect their work and your business. Fortunately, there are many ways you can help them come out of this and be much more motivated, two of which are listed below.

Give Out Crystal Awards

Giving out crystal awards to much deserving employees will motivate them. This will show them that you appreciate their work. There are variety of shapes of crystal awards, such as flames, towers, globes, diamonds, stars, and pyramids. You can also choose from many colors, such as blue, green, black, silver, and red.

Once you choose the award, you need to decide what you want to have engraved on it. Putting their name and dates of service will work good. You can also choose a small message from you. You can also put a title on the award. For example, if the employee is a salesperson you could put something like "salesperson of the year." You could also put thank you for and then the message or in recognition of.

Hold a special meeting in front of your company to hand them this award. This will make them feel very special. Do this once a month or every few months for different employees to help them all be motivated to get an award. For more information, contact companies like Trophy Awards.

Throw an Office Party

An office party can also help your employees feel motivated. You can have a small party in your office, such as ordering lunch in for everyone, such as pizza or bring in a caterer. If you would rather do it after work, take them to a restaurant in your area. This not only helps your employees feel appreciated but you can get to know them much better. For example, in a more relaxed atmosphere employees will be more like themselves than they are at work. Tell your employees they can invite their spouse or children to come to the office party.

If you chose to give them a crystal award, this would also be a good time to hand the award(s) out. Take time to talk to the employees during the party and tell them how much you appreciate them.

If you do not have it in your budget to have office parties, set up a social budget so you will always have enough money to do this.

You should see a difference in your employees if you follow these two tips. They will likely work much harder and do their job better.
